GBAC Star™ Accreditation

The Shops at Highland Village achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation in 2021, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, the worldwide cleaning industry association, The Shops at Highland Village has been recognized with implementing and maintaining the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention within the property.

GBAC STAR™ serves as the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response, and recovery accreditation establishment. GBAC helps organizations establish protocols and procedures through expert-led training, and assesses a facility’s overall readiness for bio risk situations. The STAR accreditation awarded by GBAC verifies that The Shops at Highland Village maintains best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, The Shops at Highland Village was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range within the following categories:

• Standard operating procedures
• Risk assessment strategies
• Personal protective equipment
• Emergency preparedness
• Response measures.
