- 60’ tree lighting and Santa’s arrival at The Shops at Highland Village -
HIGHLAND VILLAGE, Texas – Nov. 21, 2011 – A 60-foot tree with holiday decorations and a starburst up top, along with Santa’s arrival in a fire engine, marks the start of the holiday season during Our Village Glows at The Shops at Highland Village. School choirs, cookie decorating and face painting will once again highlight the annual event on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 6:30 p.m. to
8 p.m. Rain date is Thursday, Dec. 1. The event is free and open to the public.
Presented by The Shops at Highland Village, Highland Village Women’s Club, and the City of Highland Village, Our Village Glows has become a seasonal tradition for families in Highland Village and surrounding areas. The event will feature a decorative tree top starburst with more than 7,000 energy efficient, LED lights. Opportunities for kids include ornament making with Santa, snowman or penguin ornaments to take home.
“We are again pleased to present this special holiday tradition for the community. Choirs singing holiday songs, children decorating cookies and a visit with Santa will create a special evening for everyone,” said Kelly Smith, consumer marketing manager for the shopping center. “Each year, we welcome the Highland Village Women’s Club and the City of Highland Village as hosts of this joyous celebration.”
Proceeds from the event will go to the Highland Village Women’s Club. For more information on Our Village Glows, call 214.706.2529 or visit www.theshopsathighlandvillage.com.
